Connecting the Dots - Homeopathy and Water

Fascinating article in NewScientist called “13 Things that do not Make Sense”. I am always amused when a news article reports that scientists say “This was not what we expected - if true, this will rewrite science” I guess the reason for the laughter is that is always what they say - and they say it frequently and about everything about which they had hypothesized without having the hands-on experience. I read so often about the “way it is” - only to read later about how scientists are rethinking the “way it is” into a new “way it is”.

Homeopathy is an interesting healing method that claims that a chemical remedy can be diluted to the point where a sample is unlikely to contain a single molecule of anything but water, and yet still have a healing effect.

Madeleine Ennis, a pharmacologist at Queens University in Belfast, had been called the scourge of homeopathy - because she was so vocal in her opposition to it. She set out to prove that it was wrong - but what she may have proved, instead, is that it is right.

She showed the opposite of what she was trying to prove - and she is having to rethink.

Of course, this causes one to think about connecting the dots. Water itself is such an amazing element. Consider the groundbreaking work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University and the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine.

His work has shown that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. Water from clean springs and water exposed to loving words show brilliant, complex and colorful snowflake patterns. Polluted water and water exposed to negative thoughts forms incomplete, non-symmetrical patterns with dull colors.

Dr. Emoto developed a technique using a powerful microsope in a very cold room and used high-speed photography to photograph newly formed crystals of frozen water. An interesting point is that not all water samples crystallize - polluted rivers for example.

However, the amazing effects on the same water crystal samples of focused intentions through written and spoken words and music are eye-opening and thought-provoking. Given that the typical human being is 65% water, it stands to reason that water-effects would have tremendous human-effects.

Makes you think, doesn’t it - homeopathic remedies are diluted in water with intention.

UFO - former Canadian defense minister saw one - a lot of other people have too

I read a really interesting article at Yahoo and I quote “OTTAWA (AFP) - A former Canadian defense minister is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change, a local paper said Wednesday.”

I was interested to see the man’s credentials which are quoted later in the article

“Hellyer became defense minister in former prime minister Lester Pearson’s cabinet in 1963, and oversaw the controversial integration and unification of Canada’s army, air force and navy into the Canadian Forces. He shocked Canadians in September 2005 by announcing he once saw a UFO.”

I guess the reason that this is so fascinating to me is that I was in Lubbock in the early 50’s - when the “Lubbock Lights”, famous in UFO circles, took place. My family - including me - climbed up on top of our roof and watched the lights as they flew in formations in the sky. No way that anyone could ever convince me that what I saw was weather balloons, optical illusions, the planet Venus or any of the other explanations that are given to dismiss UFO sightings

Would you take a life? . . . What is a life?

Most people would not take the life of another human being.

Most people would not take the life of an animal - unless they were attacked - although they eat animals that are delivered to them.

A few people would not take the life of an insect (wouldn’t hurt a fly) - but what about a mosquito? or a roach? or a poisonous spider?
Some people would not take the life of a plant - although pulling weeds from the garden is taking life.

I don’t know anyone who would not take the life of a virus or a germ - as a matter of course - even if not as a conscious act. Our immune systems create armies that regularly wipe out armies of attacking viruses and germs… and we want them to continue doing just that.

On all levels the circle of life seems to be operating. Kill and be killed. Eat and be eaten.

Frankly, I have always found the whole circle of life process to be upsetting. I have had emotional turmoil coming to terms with a favorite cat killing the birds that I am feeding at my birdfeeder - let alone the massive injustices and destructions that man unleashes on other men.

My Thoughts, Opinions and Ideas

February 24, 2007 on 8:57 pm | In Statement of Purpose | No Comments

When I first entered the world of blogging, I created a blog with a very specific well-defined focus.  I absolutely loved blogging about flowers and flower gardens, but as time went by, I knew that I wanted to blog about something else too.  So I added another blog - which was also centered around one interest.

Now I have realized that I needed a blog to just talk - to talk about my thoughts - my opinions - my ideas.  I have wanted to voice opinions but felt that my other blogs were not the appropriate forum for some of my thoughts.

This blogs whole purpose in life is my expression of my ideas and my responses to the ideas of others - entering the universe of ideas - and watching the ripple effect, however small - however large, in that very universe.
